Convotherm gets a thumbs up! Convotherm gets a thumbs up!

Combi-steamer manufacturer Convotherm celebrated its 35th birthday this month.

Convotherm CEO Martin Behle said: “What makes our company unique is the mixture of tradition, long-time loyal employees and American entrepreneurial spirit from our parent company Manitowoc. These show our numerous and countless innovations and patents like the fully-fledged easyTouch or the mini appliance series.”

The company’s success story began with its launch in 1976, closely followed by the launch of its first electronically controlled combi-steamer in 1982.

Since then, the company has seen a number of milestones, including its acquisition by Enodis in 1998 and the subsequent takeover of Enodis by the Manitowoc Foodservice Group in 2008; meaning Convotherm now operates as a subsidiary of one of the largest suppliers for industrial kitchen technology worldwide.

Behle added: “Ever since the beginning of the group affiliation in 2008 new target groups have developed, such as Merrychef microwave combination ovens and CONVOTHERM combi steamers. For the future we are going to make more use of synergies in sales, service, production, development, purchasing and marketing to continue our success story.”

Convotherm currently employs over 300 people and has branches in Upper Bavarian Eglfing and Cleveland, and branch offices in Singapore and India.
