Oman has appointed a new Undersecretary and Director General of Tourism Promotion.
The Undersecretary, HE Maitha Al Mahrouqi is an experienced travel and tourism executive. She most recently worked as Oman Air’s country manager in Oman. The Director General Al Khaburi is an experienced Ministry executive.
Al Mahrouqi said: “My first communication to Oman’s tourism industry is to give priority to building business partnerships and working cohesively. Oman is investing heavily in tourism and we need to match this with more effective trade partnerships and promotions. We welcome discussions and proposals that add value to our plans and Muscat’s profile as Arabia’s tourism capital in 2012.”

She added: “we are finalising a global brand awareness campaign. This is an exciting opportunity to introduce Oman to many people.”
The Arab League Tourism Ministers recently declared Muscat as 'Arab Tourism Capital 2012'.
