A young woman who consumed cleaning liquid in an attempt to end her life was saved by doctors, but now faces prison, a fine and deportation for attempted suicide.
The Moroccan woman, in her early twenties, works with a hotel in Dibba, Fujairah, and was rushed to the hospital in a critical condition but is now stated to be out of danger, Major Saif Al Zahmi, director of Dibba Fujairah Police told Gulf News.
He said that the woman confessed to taking the extreme step citing problems in her life including disputes with her family.

"She is better now and discharged from the hospital, but she tried to kill herself and this is against our law and religion," Major Al Zahmi said.
Al Zahmi said that the case had been referred to the Attorney General and the woman charged with attempt to commit suicide, Gulf News reported.
In the UAE, as in many Muslim countries, attempted suicide is a criminal offence that can carry a penalty of up to six months in jail, a fine of as much as Dh5000, or both.
People who are convicted can face deportation and be blacklisted from re-entering the country.

Better help her to solve the problems . Jail fine deportation will add to her problems. No doubt suicide is against Islam but paying 5000 as fine & deportation is also not Islamic . Show one Islamic law that supported fine & deportation.

Great idea throw an already devastated, depressed and suicidal person in jail, give her a fine and possibly deport her if shes still alive after jail, yup that?s a fantastic idea! Don?t try and help her nooooo that would be silly!
