InterContinental Dubai Festival City has appointed Yannis Anagnostakis as its new area general manager, replacing Tom Meyer who has relocated to Bali with InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG).
Anagnostakis is moving from his position as general manager for Emirates Towers, having previously worked for Hilton in Athens, Cairo, London and Durban. He has also worked extensively for IHG, the world’s largest hotel group by number of rooms, before, in Miami, San Francisco and Toronto.
He said: “I am very excited to be re-joining the IHG family and to having the opportunity to connect and reconnect with many friends, colleagues and clients. The IHG brand is one that I have always believed in, and Dubai Festival City is such a fantastic location.

“I’m looking forward to leading our teams in positioning our luxury properties and destination as a whole as the best in Dubai – with the fantastic 600 retail outlet shopping mall next door, along with the Festival marina and breathtaking views of the skyline, there really is nothing else like it in this city.”
