Fairmont Hotels & Resorts plans to open a new hotel in the Jordan capital Amman in 2014.

The hotel, developed by Isam Khatib and Partners, will be situated in the centre of the city close to the Fifth Circle and adjacent to the Embassy District, the firm said in a statement.

Fairmont Amman will feature 300 rooms, as well as more than 2000m² of function space, including a ballroom. There will also be a spa onsite, part of Fairmont’s signature Willow Stream brand.

President of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts Jennifer Fox said: “Amman is a key gateway destination in the region, and this property will be an important addition to the growing Fairmont brand. Jordan has seen increasing investment in a variety of business sectors and we believe the market will respond positively to the entry of a new luxury hotel in the capital.

“We are privileged to join with Isam Khatib and Parteners who are well regarded for their expertise in this industry, and we look forward to the debut of this exciting property.”
