Lists have been released of the world’s best airports in terms of Halal-friendly facilities, both for OIC and non-OIC countries.
Kuala Lumpur International Airport, in Malaysia, topped the list of OIC countries, while Suvarnabhumi International Airport, in Bangkok, was number one in non-OIC countries.
The ranking, compiled by Crescentrating, the Singapore based Halal-friendly travel company, was based on surveys and feedback on facilities such as Halal food availability and prayer and ablution amenities. In some OIC, there were facilities ranging from entire mosques to dedicated terminals for Hajj pilgrimages.
Azhar Preena, Business Development Manager at Crescentrating, said: “With airports being more than just a place to catch your next flight, we hope more airports around the world will take into account the needs of the growing segment of Halal conscious travellers passing through their airports.”
