Jumeirah Group has celebrated the completion of its first year-long national graduate programme with presentation evening.
Seven graduates from the course attended the celebration in Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Duabi, where they were presented with certificates by CEO of Dubai Holding, of which Jumeirah Group is a member, Ahmad Bin Byat and Gerard Lawless, executive chairman of Jumeirah Group.
The programme was launched in 2010 to train Emiratis to become leaders in the tourism and hospitality sectors, and allow them to specialise in a chosen career path. They participated in work placements at Jumeirah properties in Dubai, projects, development classes and thought leadership seminars.
Students could specialise in areas such as sales and marketing, IT, HR and design, while the second intake of 12 graduates, who started in September 2011, now have the options of health and safety and engineering.
