Makkah Royal Clock Tower has opened its new ballroom, which features the world’s largest projection screen, as well as eight translation rooms and can accommodate 1500 guests.

The Al Jiwar ballroom, housed in the Fairmont hotel, features a roving camera monitoring systems, offering 360 degree views of the ballroom, as well as an audio and video mixer, allowing for live broadcasts.

The venue, which is design to host opulent weddings, grand events and international conferences, can also be split into three smaller rooms, which flexible seating options. It also hosts the world’s largest projection screen, at 270 m², and a systematic theatre with 700 seats.

Khaled Yamak, group director of communication and business development at FRHI, Makkah, said: “Al Jiwar ballroom is a perfect blend of traditional architecture, technology, innovation and world class hospitality. We have, in essence, created a unique and unforgettable experience for our discerning guests and this will be a key catalyst towards positioning Al Jiwar as the preferred meeting and function destination in the Holy City.”
