W Doha has revealed that its outside catering business has become a huge success, and it is looking to cater to events with up to 5000 guests.

Year-on-year, Esra Parin, beverage and food director, W Doha Hotel & Residences, said that it was looking to double revenue from the venture.

Parin said: “It’s quite a small operation, but now, it’s exceeding itself. We’ve gone from 30-, 50- and 100-people buffets, then 200-, 300- and 500-. And now we have done Moto GP recently in April, and are actually now proposing 5000-people events.”

She added: “Corporations of up to around 2000 people are starting to ask. We have established that trust and loyalty with these customers.”

At the moment, the outside catering operation has 13 staff, but Parin is looking to increase that, with a new assistant manager being introduced in September. W Doha opened in March 2009 and on average, it caters a minimum of 100 outside functions each month.
