Hilton Worldwide will double the number of staff members in the Middle East and Africa in the next three to four years, including 10,000 staff in Saudi Arabia.

Gareth Fox, vice president , human resources, Middle East & Africa, told Hotelier Middle East that currently the group employs around 16,500 staff in the region, but will double that number, due to “significant growth”.

He said: “We will almost double the size of our portfolio in the next three to four years and, with that, we will probably double the size of our workforce.

"Today we have a total of around 16,500 employees across the Middle East and Africa, and we are going to more than double that.”

Fox added that in Saudi Arabia the group was looking to recruit 10,000 new team members over the next three-to-four years due to rapid growth in the country.

"So there will have a lot of opportunities for local team leaders. There are a number of Saudis in hotel schools in Europe, and our challenge is how to attract those nationals to come back to Saudi and become a future Saudi leader or GM in the long term with Hilton worldwide,” he explained.
