The working hours of private sector companies in the UAE will be reduced from eight to six hours per day during Ramadan, officals said on Monday.


The reduction in hours for the holy month will not affect the salaries of employees, the Ministry of Labour said in comments published by state news agency WAM.


Labour Minister Saqr Gobash said he has issued a ministerial circular to private sector companies on the reduction of work hours in the UAE.

Separately, it was announced that the working hours of public sector employees will be from 9am to 2pm during Ramadan.
