Viceroy Hotel Group has appointed Bill Walshe as its new chief executive officer. He moves from Dublin-based The Doyne Collection, where he was also CEO.
After spending more than 20 years in the hospitality industry, Walshe has served as chief marketing officer for Jumeirah, as well as being vice president of sales and communication at Kempinski Hotels & Resorts for seven years.
"Bill steps into this role at an exciting time of accelerating growth for Viceroy," said Carlos Obeid, chairman of Viceroy Hotel Group’s board of directors.
He added: "Given our 2012 openings in New York, San Francisco and the Maldives, and our upcoming openings of Viceroy Istanbul and Viceroy Bodrum, Bill’s international experience and recognition as a leader within the industry will enable him to lead the continued growth and development of Viceroy Hotel Group as we expand our global foot print with new destinations in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.”
