Emirates Airline announced on Wednesday that it was cutting fares by up to 20 percent on flights to more than 30 destinations.


The promotion has been launched to celebrate the month of Ramadan, the Dubai airline said in a statement.


Customers can save up to 20 percent to certain destinations when travelling in Economy Class or Business Class.

The offer is valid for sales up to August 11 for outbound travel between the July 20 to August 15, it added.


Khalid bel Jaflah, Emirates vice president commercial UAE, said: “For many, Ramadan is an important time to be together as a family unit. The UAE is largely an expatriate community with family networks often spread around the globe. To help bring families together during the holy month Emirates has established these special fares."


The special fares start from AED1,070 return in Economy Class to Kuwait and AED3,100 return in Business Class for flights to Chennai, Kochi and Kozhikode.


Some of the destinations included in the Emirates Ramadan offer include Beirut, Cairo, Amman, Delhi, Johannesburg, Istanbul, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Vienna, London, Munich, Zurich and Manchester.


Last month, Emirates announced plans to add a total of 73 additional flights to and from Saudi Arabia during Ramadan.


Jeddah and Medinah Al Munawarrah will benefit from the extra services, put in place to serve the large number of passengers travelling to the Kingdom for religious based travel.


The extra services will be in operation from July 20 to September 1, the Dubai carrier said in a statement.
