Marriott International has opened its first hotel in Azerbaijen, the 243-room JW Marriott Absherton Baku.
Under a management agreement with Yeni Absheron Oteli LLC, the property features 15 executive studios and a presidential suite. The hotel also features a business centre with 3,200 sq m of meeting space, including a 1,208 sq m ballroom.
Overlooking Azadliq Square and the Caspian Sea, it is 25 minutes from Heydar Aliyev International Airport and features a spa and rooftop indoor pool.
President and managing director for Marriott International in Europe, Amy McPherson, said: “We are thrilled to grow our luxury JW Marriott portfolio in Europe and to open world-class hotels such as the JW Marriott Absheron Baku.”

The hotel contains four F&B outlets, including Fireworks Oriental Kitchen, serving Azerbaijan, Turkish, Iranian and Indian cuisines, Italian restaurant OroNero Bar & Ristorante, Razzmatazz Cocktail Bar & Lounge and Zest Lifestyle Cafe.
