Sweet Connection, the region's first 100% gluten-free kitchen, has been launched in Dubai.
Run by Areej Jomaa, the outlet is dedicated to providing alternatives to wheat based breads, pizzas, cakes, cookies and more, for those who are either gluten intolerant or suffer from Coeliac disease as the number of sufferers is on the rise.
Research suggests between 5 and 10% of all people may suffer from some form of food sensitivity.
Set up in the Green Community at Dubai Investment Park, Jomaa’s bakery sells a daily line of gluten free goodies as well as goods baked to order. Sweet Connection also boasts a wide range of dairy and egg free products.

“We bake for people who are gluten intolerant or suffer from Coeliac disease, as well as those who have allergies to dairy, eggs, sugar etc or for anyone who chooses to follow a gluten free diet for its numerous health benefits,” says Jomaa, who started to look into the idea after her sister was diagnosed with Coeliac disease.
All Sweet Connection products baked fresh daily are suitable for home freezing. Special items such as birthday cakes can be ordered with a minimum 24 hours’ notice.
