Abu Dhabi has been named Best Luxury MICE Destination of the Year at China Travel & Meeting Industry Awards in Beijing.
Recently, the emirate hosted 75 tier-one buyers and media as part of the Chinese Visitor Summit where they spent two day exploring facilities and meeting leaders from the MICE sector.
“Growth from the Chinese market is vital to the emirate’s immediate and long-term hotel guest objectives,” said Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority international promotions manager Mubarak Al Nuaimi.
“Recognition in the form of awards complements our domestic hosting of Chinese trade delegations and press and our extensive schedule of in-market promotions and destination awareness programmes across the Peoples’ Republic,” Al Nuaimi added.
China was Abu Dhabi’s 17th largest international feeder market in the first seven months of 2012, with 17,426 Chinese visitors – an increase of 82% year-on-year.
The China Travel & Meeting Industry Awards was organised by Chinese travel magazines Travel Weekly and Events.
