Novotel and Ibis Abu Dhabi Gate Novotel and Ibis Abu Dhabi Gate

Accor is to open the Novotel Abu Dhabi Gate this month, which will see the return of the brand to the emirate, after Abu Dhabi Novotel Centre Hotel was rebranded to Mercure last year.

The 224-room property will be clustered with the recently announced Ibis Abu Dhabi Gate, and will feature meeting facilities, children’s areas and modular-designed guestrooms.

Accor Middle East managing director Christophe Landais said: “Novotel Abu Dhabi Gate is the latest addition to our growing network of modern midscale properties in the region. We continue to trail-blaze in our ambition to build a strong base in Abu Dhabi which is prominent for our Novotel brand development.

“With Accor’s track record of being a pioneer in the region since 1979 when we opened our first hotel in the capital, Abu Dhabi Novotel Centre Hotel, which has now been rebranded to Mercure Abu Dhabi Centre Hotel in 2011, we can now offer guests a comprehensive hotel selection in the capital to choose from.”

“Being a mid-scale property, Novotel Abu Dhabi Gate is perfectly positioned to capture the rise in leisure visitors. Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority is actively promoting the city around the world, while enhancing infrastructure and attractions, and with the airlines expanding routes to and from Abu Dhabi, visitor numbers are increasing each year,” Landais added.

The property includes an all-day dining restaurant, as well as a coffee shop, pool bar and an Italian restaurant. It mixes 160 rooms with 64 one-bedroom apartments.
