Bhanu Pratap Singh from Atlantis rode on the waves of glory last night at the Hotelier Middle East Awards 2012 presented by Du, as he was named Procurement Person of the Year, sponsored by Sealy.
The award was given to recognise the perseverance and performance of the region’s procurement managers, who have faced an uphill battle in the last few years to get the most out of the property’s coffers.
At the Roaring Twenties-themed event, held at Ritz-Carlton DIFC, judges said that Singh “has saved the hotel millions thanks to e-sourcing auctions, as well as implementing a vendor performance management system and dramatically reducing order turnaround”.
After receiving the award from Rabah Sakr, regional director of sales, Singh said: “It’s really great, a really great honour. After working for so long in this industry, the industry has rewarded me."
Just missing out on the award was Nassir Al-Assiri, from Dar Al Tawhid InterContinental in Makkah.
