Abu Dhabi’s Tourism Development and Investment Company (TDIC) has signed a joint venture partnership with L Real Estate (LRE) to develop ‘The District’ retail and F&B destination in Saadiyat Island’s Cultural District by 2017.

The development, with indoor-outdoor shopping and dining venues, will feature more than 550 units featuring retail plus multiple food and beverage outlets offering a wide range of cuisines and delicacies through fine-dining restaurants, casual eateries, confectionary shops, spacious food court and a lively outdoor cafe culture.

“This new retail destination – ideally sitting among Saadiyat’s inspiring museums, beautiful landscape and coastal environment – will be a regional attraction and a highly prized sought-after location for Abu Dhabi’s communities and visitors when it opens by 2017,” said chairman of TDIC His Excellency Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan.
