Iconsulthotels founder and social media expert Martin Kubler shares some of his favourite hotel company campaigns on Youtube.
1 Howard Johnson: “Go Happy. Go Hojo” (youtu.be/F6i0XzSIVEc): A series of short, happiness-inducing videos that showcase the unique features of Howard Johnson hotels. Fun to watch!
2 Hotel Rival (Stockholm, Sweden): “The Rivals Sing 2nd Best to None” (youtu.be/nOdONUgCpUM): It probably helps if your hotel is owned by an ex-Abba member, but this is nevertheless an outstanding video and one of my personal favourites. It’s also an excellent advert for hotels in general, I think.

3 Just Falafel: “Just Falafel at the Dubai Shopping Festival” (youtu.be/wnS-3HtOWGM): Not strictly speaking a hotel video, but very watchable indeed and, let’s face it, if it works for the region’s foremost purveyor of falafels, it could work for your restaurant or bar, too.
4 Bonnington Jumeirah Lakes Towers: “Donald’s Decorative Towel Shapes – Part 5: The Swan” (youtu.be/4o-eY4LrZCc): Somewhat of a surprise hit, this video took approximately two hours to make and edit and is part of a series of towel-art videos the hotel created a while back. While it’s not Gangnam Style, it has gathered almost 50,000 views on YouTube since it was first uploaded and, together with “Part 3: The Opossum” holds the top spot on the hotel’s YouTube channel.
5 The Address Hotels + Resorts: “Seasons Greetings From The Address Hotels + Resorts” (youtu.be/AIh_8KuOJj0): The Address Hotels + Resorts maintains a very good YouTube presence and this video is no exception. I like the idea of animated festive greetings and the film is short, visually compelling, and does a great job in showcasing the chain’s offers and the unique locations of its properties.
