Accor’s Novotel brand will introduce a digital concierge service in June, available on a touch screen in its hotels which will also be adapted for mobile phone applications.
From June 2013, guests will benefit from the brand-new Virtual Concierge service – a touch-screen panel installed in the centre of common areas where guests can browse and find information related to the brand, the hotel and its neighbourhood, including suggestions for restaurants or museums, or practical information regarding the weather and flight schedules. The interactive system offers other services to guests such as sending virtual postcards.
A free, downloadable application for all Android and Apple devices will also be available from September, allowing users to benefit from the virtual concierge’s information on the move.

“With this new simple and intuitive technology, Novotel remains true to its values as an innovative brand offering a constantly evolving customer experience. The Virtual Concierge, which is already up and running in the Novotel London West, has proven a hit with guests and is eagerly awaited throughout the network,” a company spokesperson said.
The new technology is the latest in a line of digital services advanced by Novotel. In 2008, it launched the Novotel Web Corner on a Mac, and one year later, the brand deployed the XBOX 360 terminal before adding its Kinect experience in 2011.
