Holiday Inn Resort Dead Sea –  the brand that sits under the global IHG Group umbrella – and the Jordanian Hashemite Fund for Human Development (JOHUD) have announced the launch of the Holiday Inn Resort Academy which aims to provide job opportunities for young adults in the region.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between Holiday Inn Resort Dead Sea and the Jordanian Hashemite Fund for Human Development to set a strategy for the Holiday Inn Resort Academy, which aims to transform lives of the region's youth aged between 18 and 24 years.

At the academy, trainees from the local community will be offered the opportunity of an education covering both the theoretical and practical elements of the hospitality business.

Mr. Mazen Abu Sakha, general manager of Holiday Inn Resort Dead Sea and Dr. Sawsan Al Majali, Director of Zeinid & deputy executive director of JOHUD, announced at a recent press conference that they were pleased to be partners in an initiative aimed at minimising the skills gap "between what is needed by the hospitality sector and what is offered by the workforce."

The launch of the Holiday Inn Resort Academy is part of Holiday Inn Resort Dead Sea’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy which is directed at enhancing and expanding its role within the local community.

Twenty young trainees have been selected to enterf the Holiday Inn Resort Academy, who will be distributed in many vital departments in the resort, such as housekeeping, kitchen, food & beverage and laundry, as well as attending classes delivering theoretical courses.
