Switzerland’s Glion Institute of Higher Education – claimed to be among the top three hospitality management schools in the world – is to host a webinar discussing the power of celebrity endorsement in the industry.
Glion’s associate degree program leader and full-time lecturer in food & beverage management, Paul Chappel, will lead the debate (19 June, 3pm GMT+2) and is encouraging hoteliers to tune in to the session.
Chappel will discuss the hospitality industry and the influence celebrity chefs have on lifestyle, consumer behavior and government policy. He will also consider whether celebrity influence on branding is losing its appeal and will question whether chefs are truly innovating today.

The school is strengthening its online offer. Its MBA in International Hospitality and Service Industries Management in addition to several graduate programs, are now available entirely online. Now in its second year, the school’s Online MBA now has more than 290 students.
Commenting on the benefits of Glion's online facility, Chappel said: "It is the ideal program to enhance the careers of ambitious industry professionals. Managing work, studies and personal life at the same time might sound challenging at first, but with a small amount of discipline and solid time management, the challenge can be overcome easily."
Glion recently opened a new campus at London's Roehampton University, which complements its 50-year old Swiss facility, said to be the first private, university-level Swiss hotel management school.
