Over 400 Zumba enthusiasts danced for charity at the largest indoor sporting event in the Middle East, organised by Dubai Sports World (DSW) at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Participants raised funds for the World Food Programme (WFP) by completing a two-hour marathon session, which say the organisers, generated tens of thousands of dirhams, making it one of the most active charitable events this summer.

WFP is the world’s largest humanitarian organisation aimed at tackling world hunger.

Commenting on the Zumbathon event, WFP partnerships & business development manager for the Middle East, North Africa, Eastern Europe & Central Asia, Elise Bijon, said, “WFP’s global partnership with Zumba Fitness helps fight one of the world’s greatest health risks: hunger.

“Zumbathon marking the opening of Dubai World Sports this year was a great and fun opportunity for anyone eager to support an important cause while getting fit. Our heartfelt thanks go to the organisers and all participants who took part in “The Great Calorie Drive.”
