Wyndham Worldwide Corporation, the group encompassing 7380 hotels worldwide, yesterday announced the opening of the newly constructed, 307-room Wyndham Istanbul Petek.

The property is the second upscale Wyndham Hotel and Resorts property to open in Turkey in just six months.

The accommodation at the five-star, 21-storey property includes 241 guest rooms and 27 suites, as well as 39 apartments designed for extended stays.

The hotel also features meeting space, including a 586-square-metre ballroom and 14 meeting rooms totalling over 1970 sq m, as well as a large fitness suite, spa and swimming pool.

Dining options at the hotel range from a lobby bar to all-day dining and speciality restaurants, with 24-hour room service.

Owned and developed by Kilicbey Turizm Isletmeleri Insaat Sanayi ve Ticaret Anonim Sirketi, with design input from renowned architects Metex Design, the construction and opening of the hotel has, according to Wyndham, created some 200 jobs.

The opening of the hotel marks the group’s 20th property in the country, which includes properties under its Tryp by Wyndham and Ramada brands; the latest addition to Ramada, the 395-room Ramada Resort Antalya Lara, opened its doors this week in the Turkish Riviera.

The group also recently announced its entry into Turkey with its Super 8 brand which will open a total of 20 hotels over the next 10 years. The economy hotel brand currently has more than 2300 properties worldwide.
