Kempinski Hotels have appointed Holger Schroth as the new general manager of the 394 room Emirates Palace Abu Dhabi hotel.
Schroth brings close to three decades of international hospitality to his new role, having served with Kempinski hotels in Germany, China, Hong Kong, Spain, Thailand, and the United Arab Emirates. Prior to his appointment at Emirates Palace, Schroth spent three years with the Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok, where he oversaw the opening of the hotel and held a dual role as general manager and area director of South East Asia.
Commenting on his appointment Schroth said: "Emirates Palace really stands out as a symbol of exemplary luxury, but more importantly, as a symbol of Emirati hospitality. My family and I are delighted to be back in the UAE and it is certainly a great honour to take on the role of General Manager of such a fine property. Schroth’s appointment at Emirates Palace marks his return to the United Arab Emirates, having served as general manager for Hotel Kempinski Mall of the Emirates, Dubai from 2008 to 2010.
Fluent in German, English, French and Spanish, Schroth holds a European Executive MBA from Reims Management School in France, as well as academic and industry certifications from the United States and Germany.
