Le Royal Meridien Abu Dhabi has appointed Daniel van der Heijden as deputy general manager.
Heijden will oversee the hotel’s general operations, and along with the hotel’s executive team will assist the general manager in the current redevelopment project at the hotel.
The Dutch national brings more than two decades of experience to his current role. He has been a part of the Starwood team for more than 10 years in various capacities in Europe and the Middle East.

Le Royal Meridien Abu Dhabi general manager Shaun Parsons said: “We are glad to have Daniel joining us and his expertise will add tremendous value to the team here as well as the offerings to our guests. I welcome him on board and look forward to working very closely with him.”
Commenting on his appointment and the hotel’s renovation, Heijden said: “It can’t be more exciting than this. The multidimensional project will definitely elevate Le Royal Meridien Abu Dhabi’s position to the top in the market place and I am happy to be part of the team."
