Dubai-based hotelier Sami Nasser has left his role heading up Sofitel Hotels in the region to take up the new position of senior vice president, operations, Middle East, Africa and India at Fairmont Raffles Hotel International (FRHI).
In his new role, Nasser will be based in the FRHI Dubai Regional Office and will be responsible for providing leadership to the Middle East, Africa and India region for Fairmont, Raffles and Swissôtels and developing strong relationships with key partners and owners.
Nasser will report to Jennifer Fox, President, International, in his new capacity.

Commenting on his appointment, Nasser said: ““I am happy to be a part of FRHI and look forward to working with key partners and stakeholders to ensure positive growth for the brand within the region.
“The hospitality industry in the Middle East, Africa and India has grown rapidly and I look forward to aligning with emerging trends to meet guests’ needs.”
Previously, Nasser was SVP Operations Middle East, Africa and Indian Ocean for Sofitel, part of the Accor Group, with which he had worked for 25 years.
He has been based in Dubai since 2009, when he oversaw the opening of Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach.
