His Excellency Helal Saeed Al Marri, director general of Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), will be a keynote speaker at the Hotelier Middle East Great GM Debate on September 9.

Al Marri, who was appointed to his role in Janruay and who also heads up Dubai World Trade Centre, will address more than 200 UAE hotel general managers on the subject of industry collaboration.

In a live Q&A session with Hotelier Middle East editor Louise Oakley, Al Marri is expected to discuss a range of issues impacting a hotel manager’s business, from the DTCM’s programme to increase visitors from emerging markets through to the body’s new digital platform, Dubai The Destination app.

He will also talk about the positive impact of Dubai’s ever-growing events and festivals calendar on the tourism industry and the DTCM’s pivotal role in achieving Vision 2020, which aims to achieve 20 million visitors to Dubai by 2020.
