Michelle Evans, managing associate of Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA), the global hospitality design company, has been named as ‘Interior Designer of the Year’ at the Commercial Interior Design (CID) Awards 2013.

Evans was honoured for her work on hospitality projects across the region including the Living Room, Al Manzil and Ahasees Spa & Club at the Grand Hyatt hotel in Dubai, and the Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara in Abu Dhabi.

Commenting on her achievement Evans said: “At HBA I have been involved in creating some world-class urban hotels to leisure resorts and every project is inspiring, since each client is individual. Also working in different countries throughout this region comes with new and exciting challenges, evoking creativity through the local culture. I believe that this deep understanding of many different cultures, combined with my personal experience, helps to create different ascetics for the individual projects, and I am very proud to have been recognised for this award.”
