The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts and Kempinski Hotels have mutually agreed to end their 25 year alliance.
Both companies described the quarter century relationship as “fruitful”, but added the ending of the relationship as of the first of this month would allow Leela to “further consolidate its sales and marketing network”, while facilitating Kempinski’s “direct penetration of the important Indian market”.
Last week’s termination was the final move of a progressive phase-out of the partnership that began in 2012.

Capt. CP Krishnan Nair, chairman Emeritus and founder chairman, The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts said the strong cooperation enjoyed by the two luxury brands over more than two decades had “immensely benefited both The Leela and Kempinski, and helped significantly increase brand awareness globally and in the Indian market”.
President and CEO, Kempinski Hotels, Reto Wittwer said the company was “proud” of the “rewarding relationship” which Kempinski Hotels and The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts had “enjoyed for more than twenty years”.
