Movenpick Hotels and Resorts has opened its sixth Movenpick hotel in Dubai, a 475-unit mixed use property located in Jumeirah Lakes Towers.
The hotel is the first Movenpick-branded property to be opened by international property developer IFA Hotels and Resorts, which is listed on the Kuwait Stock Exchange and owns various hotel assets, including Fairmont The Palm, also in Dubai.
IFA Hotels and Resorts chairman Talal Al-Bahar said: “We are delighted to add Movenpick Hotel Jumeirah Lakes Towers to our operational asset portfolio. This project is a landmark for both our companies in different ways. Movenpick has now become the first international hotel company to open for business in Jumeirah Lakes Towers.

“For IFA HR, it is our first mixed-use tower to open with 475 units comprising 168 hotel condominium rooms, 287 residences and 20 turn-key furnished residences.”
Movenpick Hotels & Resorts Middle East and Asia chief operating officer Andreas Mattmuller said JLT provided a “very unique location”.
“Jumeirah Lakes Towers is one of the fastest growing free zones in the world, rapidly attracting multinationals and, subsequently, causing an increasing demand for hospitality in the immediate vicinity. The opening of this property is a winning proposition for everyone involved,” said Mattmuller.
Movenpick Hotel Jumeirah Lakes Towers features three F&B outlets — urban bar & kitchen (ubk), ‘nosh’ and Crema — seven spa treatment rooms, eight meeting rooms, a gym and outdoor infinity pool.
IFA Hotel Investments CEO Joe Sita, who heads up the asset management arm of IFA Hotels & Resorts, added: ““The Mövenpick team has worked hard to ensure the personality of the hotel is relaxed, inviting and unpretentious, yet still lively. We are really pleased with the results and eager to see how the market responds to a property with such a unique combination of location, style, function and ambiance.”
Movenpick Hotels & Resorts currently operates 79 hotels in 24 countries, with 30 more hotels planned or under construction, including a seventh property for Dubai.
