Two weeks after the devastation of super typhoon Haiyan, Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts’ have launched the ‘Bayanihan for the Philippines’ campaign.

The campaign is a joint public and internal campaign aimed at supportig relief, rebuilding and rehabilitation operations for various villages in Daanbatayan , an area about 140 kilometres north of Cebu, which were destroyed by the typhoon.

Shangri-La’s Golden Circle members can donate their points which will be matched one-for-one by the group and converted into money. Shangri-La will also donate $20 for every 1,000 points donated up to one million points.

In addition, the organisation is accepting cash donations through their website which will allocate funds and track the way in which they are spent. To date, over 5,000 relief boxes have been donated to communities in Barangays, Tinubdan and Dalingding by the company.

Shangri-La operates five establishments in the country. None of the hotels or resorts were affected by the typhoon and all remain fully operational at this point in time.
