The Burj Khalifa will light up with a spectacular fireworks display on Wednesday night if Dubai wins the right to host Expo 2020, Arabian Business can reveal.

It is understood that a huge fireworks display and laser show has already been readied, in anticipation of the emirate winning the long awaited vote.

The bidding process for Expo 2020 will reach its conclusion on Wednesday night in Paris, with the host city revealed sometime between 5pm and 9pm Dubai time.

Dubai is in completion with cities from Russia, Brazil and Turkey.

Should Dubai win, the fireworks display has been timed provisionally for around 10pm.

Elsewhere around the emirate, huge excitement continues to build with several “Expo 2020 parties” taking place. One of the biggest will be at the Capital Club, where over 300 business leaders will gather to watch the vote live.
