Dubai Municipality is to open a first of its kind luxury hotel for pets in the emirate in March 2014, reports Khaleej Times.

Director general of the Dubai Municipality Hussain Nasser Lootah made the announcement after reviewing the work of the Dh54.1 million development, including an attached birds and pets market. The air-conditioned pets’ hotel, measuring 835 square metres, is designed to host four-legged guests while their owners are on vacation or away from the country.

Dubai Municipality director of assets management department Khalifa Hareb said: “(It) will have dressing and grooming rooms, therapy sessions, laundry services, playgrounds, supervisors and vets.”

Pet owners will be able to monitor the hotel guest pets online. The hotel will be on the ground floor, with doors in dog rooms that will allow them to step out into a spacious area.

\“The hotel which has 30 independent rooms can accommodate 50 dogs at a time,” he added.
