Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates, in partnership with Mall of the Emirates, raised an impressive AED 87,990 (US $24,000) for the Dubai Centre for Special Needs selling a record 600m of stollen cake in less than 12 hours.

The 8th Annual Stollen Charity Cake Sale brought together more than 70 volunteers from Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates and Mall of the Emirates who joined hands to add sparkle and cheer to the start of festive season.

Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates general manager Konstantin Zeuke said: “It was with smiles on our faces, that we once again proudly reached our goal and raised an impressive amount of money for our friends at the Dubai Centre for Special Needs. At Kempinski, we believe in giving back to our community, which is why our colleagues and families volunteered at the event. We had fun and reached out to those in need. I am extremely proud of our achievement and I am looking forward to next year’s event.”

It took 14 volunteer chefs four weeks to bake the 600-metre traditional German stollen fruitcake, but with all 600msuccessfully sold, proceeds from the day will be donated to the Dubai Centre for Special Needs to help provide special needs children with a brighter future.
