Middle East spa supplier The Product House, which has been operating in the region for 15 years, has expressed interest in opening a second branch in Doha and championing the Middle East as a spa destination.

The supplier which services many of the major hotel groups in the Middle East including Rotana, Jumeirah Group, Emaar, Hilton, Hyatt, Shangri-La and Atlantis among others, has said that Doha is the biggest market after Dubai.

Janette Gladstone Watts, founder and managing director commented: “Our hub is in Dubai but it’s quite challenging now with our markets growing so much in Oman and Doha, which is a huge one. We may set up a little satellite office in Doha.

“Doha is the biggest growing market after Dubai; the only problem their legislations are very tough, so with hotels so close together so it’s extremely completive.”

Gladstone refers to a major challenge she has seen in Dubai and even more so in Doha where Hotels are very close to each other and don’t want to have the same brands.

Having witnessed the spa industry grow to a huge extent over the past 15 years operating in the region, and the huge interest in Dubai and Doha, the company is keen to develop the Middle East into a spa destination and recently entered into discussions with Spa Breaks, the largest spa travel company in the UK.

In addition to in-house merchandising and PR services, the company has support mechanisms for all brands including retail incentive schemes, promotions and events as well as sales materials in five languages.
