Burj al Arab, the iconic luxury hotel in Dubai, is to stage a special charity dinner at the hotel’s famous helipad, with the price tag starting at AED10,000 ($2,722).

The once-in-a-lifetime dinner will be limited to just 12 guests and is designed to raise money for the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP).

The High Table dinner experience will take place on March 13 and will be the grand finale to the inaugural Dubai Food Festival.

As well as views across the Arabic Sea and the Dubai skyline, the experience will include a gastronomic seven-course degustation menu created by the Burj Al Arab’s executive chef Maxime Luvara.

Heinrich Morio, general manager at Burj Al Arab, commented: “People within Dubai have known for a long time what fantastic culinary experiences are available here. We are thrilled to back the Dubai Food Festival with this unique dining experience and contribute to Dubai’s position as a hub for culinary expertise. The United Nations World Food Programme is a great cause and to know that the proceeds from this evening are going to provide food to 120,000 children is truly rewarding.”
