W Retreat & Spa Maldives has appointed Jean-Marc Ma-Poon as the new general manager.
In his new role, Ma-Poon will be responsible for the overall operation of the retreat, providing strategic leadership to his new team.
Ma-Poon has been with Starwood Hotels & Resorts for 13 years, having joined the Westin Park Central Hotel, Dallas in 2001, where he gained extensive experience in various operations.

He then joined the team at Westin St John Resort & Villas, US Virgin Islands before moving to the Sheraton Skyline Hotel and Conference Centre in London as food & beverage director.
In 2010, Ma-Poon was appointed as deputy general manager for the Sheratomn Amman Al Nabil Hotel & Towers Jordan and most recently hotel manager at W Retreat & Spa – Bali.
