Corp Amman Hotel general manager Erik Huyer Corp Amman Hotel general manager Erik Huyer

Veteran hotelier Erik Huyer has joined Hospitality Management Holdings’ (HMH) Corp Amman Hotel as general manager. He has taken over the role from Emad Jawad Hussain, who is set to join another HMH property.

The property opened in March 2013 and Huyer will be responsible for building on the success of its first year in the Jordanian capital.

For the past seven years, he has been general manager of Hotel Al Khozama in Riyadh, a Rosewood Hotel, responsible for operations at the hotel and executive apartments as well as a sports centre, retail and office complex.

“Few hoteliers can boast such a comprehensive pedigree that covers three major global markets – the Middle East, Asia and Australasia – including strong experience in the GCC,” said HMH chief executive Laurent Voivenel.

“It is heartening to see the economic progress in Jordan where International Monetary Fund is forecasting first signs of growth after the Arab Spring. The Corp Amman Hotel has reported a good first year since its launch.

“And with its reins in Erik’s capable hands there is considerable potential for consolidation and growth as Amman expands its tourism infrastructure and reaches into new corporate, events and leisure markets.”
