The UAE World Class bartending competition is due to crown a winner today at an event at Embassy, Grosvenor House Dubai.

Thirteen bartenders from the region will compete in a series of challenges, and the regional winner will head to the Diageo Reserve World Class global final in the UK in July.

The shortlisted 13 were chosen from bars, hotels, and restaurants in the region after qualifying at regional heats and challenges.

During the challenge, a panel of ‘gurus’ will share their expertise on topics such as mixology expertise, presentation and ice carving skills, and the hospitality industry.

The industry gurus include Tanqueray Gin global ambassador Angus Winchester, Japanese bartending master and ice carving expert Hidgetsugu Ueno, Ketel One European brand ambassador Justin Smyth, and Diageo Reserve World Class 2010 winner Erik Lorincz.

The UAE World Class is sponsored by Diageo and African & Eastern.
