The first batch of students have graduated from the Grooming Bahraini Hospitality Talent Programme, delivered through a partnership between Kempinski Grand & Ixir Hotel, Bahrain City Centre and the Labour Fund of Bahrain, Tamkeen.

Training encompassed in-classroom and on-the-job coaching, with dedicated Kempinski mentors allocated to each student and was aimed at attracting more Bahrainis to work in the hospitality industry.

Tamkeen’s chairman and acting chief executive, His Excellency Shaikh Mohammed bin Essa Al Khalifa said: “Through the various Tamkeen programmes we constantly strive to provide Bahrainis with the necessary skills and knowledge to help them advance in their careers and apply their skills and abilities to become more productive in their line of work and gain a competitive edge in the labour market.

“We are proud to see this batch of employees from Kempinski completing an international hospitality qualification and strengthening the Bahraini talent in the market.”

The training was delivered by Kempinski’s training department and Third Wave international, a Sri Lankan organisation that provides management consultancy and corporate training services, and works under a public tender with the government of Bahrain.

An additional training partner was Australian Institute, William Angliss.

Having graduated from the programme, the young Bahrainis will be offered employment at Kempinksi Grand & Ixir Hotel in departments such as food & beverage, front of house and housekeeping.
