Taj Palace Hotel Dubai has received the EarthCheck Silver certificate for a third consecutive year.
The Taj Palace Hotel Dubai was first benchmarked by EarthCheck in 2010 on areas including energy consumption, cleaning chemicals, water saving, and waste recycling, with follow-up assessments showing significant improvement in all areas, and was awarded its first silver certificate after 12 months.
The hotel also focuses on social sustainability by hiring locally and buying locally produced products and services.
"Joining this certification programme completely changed the staff’s thinking and made them realise that hotel and tourism businesses need to have dedicated water management plans, which are successfully implemented," said a hotel spokesperson.
