A UAE Hospitality Federation is to be set up to develop skills and capabilities in the hospitality and culinary sectors.
It is being set up by the Dubai World Hospitality Championship, in line with the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai.
The Federation will provide the sectors with the best training in accordance with the global standards and will also facilitate the exchange of experiences and ideas regarding international cooperation and communication.
H.E. Ahmed Bin Hareb Al Falahi, general manager of Za’abeel Palace Hospitality and the president of Dubai World Hospitality Championship, said: “The development of UAE’s hospitality sector is inevitable as the country is poised to attain regional and international excellence at all levels.

“The local hospitality sector is gaining momentum on an international scale as it keeps pace with the latest developments while maintaining UAE’s traditions.
“The establishment of the UAE Hospitality Federation embodies the vision of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, who aims to highlight the hospitality sector’s pivotal role in attaining sustainable development and positioning UAE as a leader in global hospitality arena."
He added that, with the UAE fast becoming a regional and international tourism hub, the hospitality sector had an important role to play in strengthening the country’s tourism sector.
“In order to enhance the hospitality services in accordance with the highest international standards, we have to strengthen the education sector, establish national brands specializing in hospitality, support the industry to gain a foothold in the regional and international markets, and offer professional trainings to UAE nationals,” explained Al Falahi.
“The trainings will enhance their creative skills, enabling them to compete globally while promoting UAE’s traditions.”
This year’s Dubai World Hospitality Championship will take place from October 30 to November 3 at Dubai World Trade Centre and consist of five competitions, including International Competition, Hospitality Sector Competition, Emirati Competition, Gulf Products Competition, and Gulf Exhibition.
