General managers from across the region are being encouraged to secure their place at next week’s Hotelier Middle East Great GM Debate 2014.

Taking place at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel in Dubai, the essential networking and education forum is expected to attract around 200 GMs.

Among the speakers taking to the stage at the event will be Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) director general His Excellency Helal Almarri, who will discuss Dubai tourism projects and targets.

Delving further into the topics addressed by Almarri will be a panel session entitled Healthy Competition, which will see senior corporate hoteliers and GMs discuss the impact of Dubai’s evolving hospitality mix.

Speakers on this high profile panel, moderated by Viability director Guy Wilkinson, will include Michael Martin, general manager & regional general manager, InterContinental Dubai Marina & Intercontinental Hotel Group, Klaus Assmann, general manager, Sofitel Downtown, David Thompson, chief operating officer, JA Resorts & Hotels and Carlos Khneisser, vice president - development, Hilton Worldwide Middle East.

Other topics being discussed at the event will include Beating Benchmarks; Healthy Competition; Social Media in Hospitality and the GM’s Responsibility for Reputation; and The Evolution of the GM.

To enable more in-depth conversation and the informal sharing of challenges and best practice, the Hotelier Middle East Great GM Debate will also feature four workshops, with each GM choosing one to attend.
