Jumeirah Beach Hotel has hosted a successful Guinness World Record attempt to create the world’s largest tennis ball mosaic.
The mosaic was installed on the 3800 square metre Events Arena lawn, on the main beach and in front of Wild Wadi Waterpark, and was made up of 2327 balls, smashing the previous record of 500.
The design featured the #MyDubai hashtag and the three finger Expo 2020 victory sign of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai.
Fellow Jumeirah Group-operated property the Burj Al Arab joined in the celebrations by transforming its helipad into a 4467 square foot grass tennis court.

The world record attempt was timed to coincide with the draw for the 2015 Davis Cup by BNP Paribas, which was held during the International Tennis Federation’s Annual General Meeting at Madinat Jumeirah last week.
The draw to decide who meets whom in the opening round of the 2015 edition was rounded off with a gala evening which witnessed some top names and officials from the world of tennis.
Burj Al Arab’s helipad also served as the centre stage to display the Davis Cup - one of the oldest sporting trophies - which weighs 105 kilogrammes.
The transformation of the helipad into a court mirrored the publicity stunt in 2005 when Roger Federer and Andre Agassi played a game of tennis to promote the Dubai Duty Free Men's Open.
