Ajman-based R Hotels has acquired its fifth property in the UAE, on Dubai’s Al Mina Road in the Jumeirah neighbourhood.

The 192-key property will feature a combination of rooms and suites, an all-day dining restaurant, banquet facilities, gym and swimming pool, concept spa and salon, meeting rooms, business centre, and retail space.

While an operator has not yet been confirmed, the hotel is expected to attract both corporate and leisure travellers.

R Hotels managing director Sumair Tariq commented: “The UAE continues to witness a strong and steady growth in the hospitality and tourism sectors.

"We aim to capitalise on these developments by expanding our portfolio in key locations, and bringing in reputable hospitality brands to cater to the demands of different markets and segments.”

In 2013, the group announced its AED1.5billion investment plans to add to its existing hotel portfolio over the coming years.

“R Hotels is on track of its development and expansion plans," added Tariq. "There is a robust competition in the market and we see this as an opportunity for growth. R Hotels has established a good reputation in the hospitality field and we will continue to boost our market presence in the coming years.”

R Hotels currently owns and manages four properties in the UAE – Ramada Hotels & Suites Ajman, Ramada Beach Hotel Ajman, Ramada Downtown Dubai, and Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham in Jumeirah Beach Residence.
