A US $6.8 million renovation and modernisation programme is on the verge of completion at Le Méridien Al Aqah Beach Resort in Fujairah.
Work on the resort’s 218 rooms began last year, incorporating new, high quality room designs from Amani Al Lauz, VP facilities interior design and maintenance at Emirates Airlines.
Each room has been completely modernised with a blend of contemporary style and technology. Key features include Bluetooth connectivity to the flat screen TV, wireless high speed internet access, and commissioned artwork depicting East Coast landscapes.
The rooms now also feature the new signature Le Méridien Bed, extra sofa beds and Bose music systems in the Royal Club rooms.

“As market leaders, our commitment to quality remains steadfast. The rooms reflect the vivid imagination of our experienced interior designer with a little help from Starwood’s global design office who ensured that they met its high global brand standards,” said Le Méridien Al Aqah beach resort and Al Maha, a Luxury Collection Desert Resort and Spa complex general manager Patrick Antaki.
“We look forward to welcoming old guests and new to the resort soon.”
Amani Al Lauz worked closely with the Starwood design team to create guest rooms that would be both functional and tasteful. The carpet design, art on the walls and the soft fabric used in the upholstery all reflect Fujairah’s rich, diverse and unspoiled natural beauty.
Positioned against a backdrop of the Hajar Mountains and the Indian Ocean, Le Méridien Al Aqah has nine restaurants and bars, a spa, a professional dive centre and a variety of leisure facilities including a beach volleyball court and a mini-golf course.
The first phase of the renovation was completed in December, when 105 of its rooms reopened.
