The Caterer Middle East Bar & Nightlife Forum is underway at Grosvenor House Dubai, with over 100 F&B professionals in attendance.

Unlike previous years, this year’s event features several more interactive sessions and case studies, while still focusing on key issues such as staying ahead of the competition, increasing revenue, and attracting guests.

Confirmed speakers for the event include Jumeirah Group director of beverage Ian McEvoy, Omnia by Silvena operations manager Motorga Heathcliff, Media One F&B director Felix Hartmann, Toko general manager Ghazi Azzabi, Rivington Grill general manager Nikolas V. Pazvadis, Zero Gravity general manager Peter Skudutis, Iris Dubai general manager Wassim Zouein, and Qbara bar manager consultant Andrew Mullins.

Over the course of the day, the event will cover topics ranging from competing internationally to put the UAE on the global map, to legitimising the industry as a career and diversity and competition in the region, as well as a case study on the importance of developing a non-alcoholic cocktail menu.

The workshops will focus on overcoming restrictions when promoting the industry, and investing in soft skills, and a debate on the effectiveness of promoters v in-house marketing.

The event will also provide bar, outlet, and operations managers with a platform to share best practices and discuss the unique challenges and opportunities they face in their day-to-day operations and strategic long term goals.

Caterer Middle East is also live-tweeting throughout the event. To get involved in the conversation, please use the official event hashtag #Caterer2014
