Golden Tulip is to operate a 104-room, three-star hotel currently being developed by Action Hotels in Ras Al Khaimah under its Tulip Inn brand
Earlier this month, Action signed a 20-year lease agreement on an existing residential development and will undertake a refurbishment and conversion of the interior of the Ras Al Khaimah hotel, which is expected to be completed and fully operational by September 2015.
It has now signed a memorandum of understanding with Golden Tulip, part of Louvre Hotels, marking its first deal with the operator. Tulip Inn Ras Al Khaimah will be located in the heart of the emirate’s financial district.
Golden Tulip MENA president Amine Moukarzel said: "We know the region well and are excited to be adding a three-star hotel in Ras Al Khaimah in addition to our existing five- star resort, Golden Tulip Khatt Springs in this area.

“This new hotel is ideally located and is a great addition to our portfolio and is expected to be well received by the regional travellers in a market that is currently undersupplied in the economy sector. Golden Tulip is actively working with the Ras al Khaimah Tourism authority to continue promoting the destination that has seen its local visitations grow by 31.6% between 2010 and 2012.”
Action Hotels Chairman Sheikh Mubarak A.M. Al-Sabah added that the property will enable Action Hotels to fill a gap in the supply of economy and mid-market hotels and predicted it will positively contribute to the company’s EBITDA levels starting from 2015.
